A Day in the Life

Friday
4:44 a.m.
Thank you Murphy for whipping past me in the night and squashing your cold, wet nose into my left eye socket. I'm now wide awake, idly flipping through the channels in the vague hope I'll land on porn of some description. (No such luck).

One of the dogs must die. I can't deal with it when they tag-team me for food, outside time or toys. And I promise you, if Bailey teaches Murphy to whine like she does, everyone goes to the pound.

11:57 a.m.
I found "Muffins: A Cookbook" in the upper reaches of the pantry today and found a recipe for lemon muffins. I added some cranberries from the freezer and whipped up a dozen ruby-studded lovlies in no time. Trouble was, there wasn't enough liquid in my estimation and they wound up with an odd texture. Also, I left them baking a skosh too long so the tops are darker than I would have liked. No one outside this house will see that particular batch, it would just be too embarassing.

I wonder if the dogs will eat lemon?

If I call the Vietnamese place and order a 202 with peanut sauce, that means I'll actually have to leave the house to get it. That would mean getting dressed and probably doing something about my hair. I'll have a plate of fries from the oven instead.

1:08 p.m.
This blog provided me with an interesting half hour this afternoon. I spent a while checking out all the Sbux I visited while in NYC last year. It also made me realize just how few pictures I took and how I've been falling down in my responsibilities as a tourist. I don't have plans to travel this year, but I shall make it a resolution regardless.

2:15 p.m.
The kitchen is a mess but I have this burning need to watch Season Three of Buffy while eating a rather large slab of Chocolate Gingerbread with Chocolate Ginger icing. Laundry calls out to me but iTunes beckons louder; I am emotionally scarred and will end up badly.
